FAQs

LDD ART SHOW FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will these dolls be available for sale?
Yes all the dolls will be available for sale, but be aware that each is a one of a kind creation.

Will these dolls be considered "official" LDDs even though they were not designed by Ed, Damien, or Mez?
No, none of these dolls will be considered part of the Living Dead Dolls collection or “official” Living Dead Dolls. There is always a slim possibility that one or some may be considered to become part of a future series of Living Dead Dolls. But it is doubtful.

Will these dolls be mass produced?
There are no plans for any of the dolls to be mass produced, but anything is possible.

I'm a great artist, why wasn't I asked to participate?
We wish we could have asked everyone but we couldn't. While in the planning stages we had to keep the event secret and we couldn't do that if we asked everyone. If we repeat the show again next year we may have a "casting call" for artists so more people can submit their work for consideration. The 2006 event is booked and, sadly, we cannot add you to this year's roster.

Will this be a yearly event?
Right now this is planned as a one time event, but anything is possible.

Will there be any commemorative merchandise?
Yes, there is an Opening Night T-Shirt and Opening Night Cloisonné Pin being offered exclusively at the event and to non-attendees through www.clubmez.com

Do I have to buy a ticket to attend the art show?
No the show is free to the public, starting November 1st. For information and showroom hours check out www.theshowroomnyc.com

I've never gone to an art show before, can I take pictures?
You will have to check with the gallery if they allow pictures or not. There will be a "show book" available later this year with pictures of all the dolls and bios of the participating artists.

Can I buy a blank doll?
No, there are no blank dolls for sale.

My rash isn't clearing up, should I see a doctor?
See Nurse Necro and Dr. Dedwin. They accept most health plans, including Boo Cross.

Is this some kind of contest?
No this is not a contest and there are no prizes.

Do I have to come to NY to see the show? Will pictures be posted online?
There are no plans to do a traveling exhibit, but anything is possible. So for now you will have to come to NYC to see the exhibit in person. Everything sneaks it’s way to the internet eventually, but whether official pictures will be posted online is still yet to be determined.

Who are these "artists"?
Some are well known and established commercial artists, some are outsider artists, other are famous and sometimes infamous FX artists, some are designers, some are musicians with an artistic bent, some are toy manufacturers, some are dear friends or collogues, and some are young artists who's work somehow caught our attention.

Will these dolls be the next series?
None of these dolls are under consideration for the next series, but anything is possible.
